This route links 1,
US101, I5, and 99. It is not 100% complete either, because if 65 is
ever will built, it will link 65 with other Valley highways, and the
Central coast. The two lane wide section from US101 to 156 will
be widened to be a four lane wide highway from US101 to 99. The
interchange with 156 was badly needed and it opened ahead of schedule
on 8/28/2008. My 152 pages are popular and people tend to look more
deeply at this highway than a lot of others on my site. And also people
look at "old" photos of it here. I won't be taking down the "old"
photos nor the construction photos. I think I have put up all photos I
ever took of this highway. I have been out here a lot since 1980.
Here is roughly when 152 was constructed to the width it is now:
99 to I5: 1960s as a four lane, divided highway. The only stop signs or
traffic lights have been in Los Baños.
I5 to Santa Clara County line as a four lane, divided highway: 1973.
The stop sign at 33 North became an interchange in 1995 - 1996.
Santa Clara County line to 156: 1980s to 1991.
156 to US101: there are passing lanes going in on the upgrades headed
eastbound. I did not see them on the grade headed westbound, just past
156.
