The reservoir usually stays pretty full in a rainy year's summer.

These next two photos are from April 1998, during one of California's rainiest years ever.

 
  This is overlooking the O'Neil Forebay, next to Santa Nella.
This is in the summertime.

Late fall 1997 is when this was taken, and the brown band on the horizon is from dust storms in the east Central Valley. Other than the dust storms, this is about as clear as you can see in the valley.
