Interstate 70 West

This is from Kevin Weed in August 2018 of a trip from Ohio to Colorado on I70. I have been on this freeway from Dayton, Ohio to Denver so I can comment on it. I have been on US50 in Nevada so I have been on what could have been I70.

Now in Colorado. Mile 436. The whole eastern half of Colorado is basically
a continuation of Kansas as it continues to be flat and boring. You won't
see mountains till you get into Denver to the northwest (where 70 goes) or
Colorado Springs to the southwest. This is by Burlington and US24 is with I70 here. From Eric: if you were on I80 West to the north of here then it is really climbing upwards. Also per Corcohighways the Kanorado section of Kansas and Colorado is the ugliest part of the US. He said it gets even worse on US36 in Colorado up to US385. US385 South in Texas

Mile 359 in Limon. From here I-70 heads northwest to Denver. US Route 24
runs southwest to Colorado Springs from here. After Denver the interstate
heads through the heart of the Rocky Mountains where it reaches an
elevation of 11,158 feet at the Eisenhower Tunnel which is the highest
point in the interstate highway system and it is some of if not the most
scenic highway driving to be done in this country (see the I-70 east in
Colorado photos to check it out.)
(From Eric: I have been only up to I25 on I70. I have been on US50 from Silver Springs, Nevada to the end of it. And I was on I25 in New Mexico years before I had a camera.)

I put a lot more links than usual here since I70 does not run all the way to California. It does lead to US50 and US6. Do not forget that I70 might have stopped near Denver. The part from Denver to I15 was built later on. If you are driving through here I figure you either get to California via I25 to I80, or via US50, or via I70 to I15. A few of you will do US6 to 120. 120 is slow and it is closed some of the year from Yosemite to near US395.
