Interstate 80 and US30 West in Wyoming

The eastern part of Wyoming is generally pretty flat and desolate, with bigger mountains in the distance, especially to the south (in Colorado) and it is high up at the Nebraska state line. Pine Bluff is a nice area. Wyoming is a very sparsely populated state, and you won't find any rush hour here. It makes Nevada look crowded sometimes. Gas and motels tend to be very cheap in Wyoming. This is from Kevin Weed in 1990 just past Pine Bluffs. This is in Laramie county.

[I80 West]

Mile 337
This was taken near Buford. For a while this was called "PhinDeli Town Buford." It is an abandoned town.

[I80 West]

Mile 337
I80 is about to enter the mountains west of Laramie.

[I80 West]

Mile 325
This is where I80 goes over a summit at 8640', in the middle of the Medicine Bow National Forest.
Headed west you will be in high country for a long way, headed east you're headed into much lower country. It feels like you're going over a major change when you go over this pass. This is one of the most beautiful passes on I80.

[I80 West]

Mile 317
Here I80 is overlooking Laramie from a distance. Note the snow capped mountains also in the distance.
The section west of Laramie reminds me of the Battle Mountain stretch of I80 westbound in Nevada. The city of Laramie is in Albany county.
