Interstate 80 and US30 West in Wyoming

Wyoming and Nevada have a lot of similarities in their highway signs and they also sound a lot alike.
I80 in Wyoming runs through higher mountains overall than I80 in Nevada. I80 in Wyoming also runs through a lot of grass covered landscape. I80 in Nevada mainly runs through sage brush country. You might just see a buffalo through Wyoming too. The section of I80 shown here is very rural. Interstate 80 in Wyoming has snow fences near the road in a few sections. Also there are signs on I80 in Wyoming that say you must exit the freeway due to the snow when there are bad winter storms.

Mile 75. The US30 exit leads to the Fossil Butte National Monument. That is what the brown sign here says.

Many trucks take US30 because it is a shortcut to Oregon compared to taking Interstate 84. US30 and I80 never cross paths again. US30 is the only remaining coast to coast US highway. It went through about 188 miles of high desert and mountains to reach I15 in Idaho. Kemmerer isn't a big city by any means. It's a long ride from I80 to I15! I have only done I80 from here to Wells at night so there are no photos of that section. My coverage of I80 starts up again in Wells, Nevada. US30 was proposed to be an interstate to I15. It is 188 miles to I15 from here. If you continue to Salt Lake City on I80 you will find Parley's Canyon to be a doozy.
