US101 at 198 in California
This set is from March 1996, during an El Niño year.
These
hills look like they belong in Ireland when it rains hard.
This looks onto a plot of BLM land west of San Ardo and the Los Padres
National Forest.
The mountains west of here are surprisingly tall (some of them are
5000' peaks)
and they are best seen west of this set of foothills. From Lockwood
(one
of the few mission towns bypassed by US101) you'd be amazed at how the
mountains
look.
