US101 North in Monterey County

Looking at Junipero Serra Peak in the Los Padres National Forest. These mountains can be seen more closely in Arroyo Seco. This is from April 1995 by Paris Valley Road. Arroyo Seco means dry stream in Spanish.

Here is US101 near San Lucas in August 1995. San Lucas means Saint Luke. When I did this ride it seemed a long way from the Bay Area to Los Angeles through here. Also Mission San Antonio de Padua is west of here. US101 is not built close to all the old Spanish missions.

This is from January 1996.

Just south of San Lucas and 198, and this was taken in March 1996.
