J1 West (Proposed 180)

This is getting closer to the Fresno county line. The creek runs along the highway through here.

This area doesn't have green hills long due to low rainfall. In the summer it is almost a "lunar" landscape.

This is probably just a few miles from the Fresno - San Benito County line.  

This is looking down Shotgun Pass towards the tiny town of Panoche (towards the left in the valley.) The mountains in the distance are near Pinnacles and the San Lucas area of US101. Idria and other small rural San Benito County towns are to the south of here.
