Interstate 80 East in California

Mile 194
I80 runs through a scenic valley here. The CHP weigh station is in the distance. I do listen to the CHP as a highway related hobby also, especially when there are sunspots and I can get offices from very far away. A few times I heard east coast state police agencies instead of the CHP on 42 Mhz.

Exit 196 (Hirschdale Road)
The snow pack doesn't last as long in this stretch. Its usually gone most of the time by March or April, even in El Niño years.

Mile 200
And this is nine miles east of the state line.
This is moderate snowfall here. This is probably about elevation 4700'.

Mile 209
This is the Nevada state line.
I80 continues to drop till Reno. It skirts the state line just before entering Nevada.
Here there is an old US40 era, faded green colored marker that says "Mile 208.9" by the state line. Similar old markers are near Mile 155, and one on the Capital City freeway just past 99 South. The "Mile 0" marker from Nevada is shown. Other than the green mile markers I have mentioned, I have never ever seen any official green mile markers in California. Of course Stanislaus County put their own brown mile markers on Proposed 130.
