At Mile 22, Interstate 80 becomes 70 MPH. This is mile 26, and it is just east of Reno. Here I80 has a 14 mile long stretch of very noisy pavement.
I was not able to go to a distant family reunion out in Reno. This is I80 in Washoe county.

Mile 26
Mile 36
The noisy stretch ends around here. Since early 1998, I80 in this
sector
has had remote control variable speed limit signs and remote control
chain
required signs. This area can have a lot of snow, and wrecks, in some
storms.
The Truckee river is next to the freeway and it is very scenic. I80 replaced US40 through here.
Mile 36
This area has some stretches like I10 near Benson, Arizona because the freeway is by red
soil.
