Highway 33 North in Ventura and Fresno Counties

The first two photos are from Ventura, the second two are from northern Fresno County.

This used to be US399, and it went up present day 33 to present day 119 into Bakersfield.
I took this by mistake off US101, and I only went an exit or two on 33 in 1988, back when this set was taken.

This set is from October 1995.   33 was the only major north-south highway on the Westside of the valley before I5 was built in 1973. This set is from Mendota to the Merced County line. Note the cotton  crop at the side of the road. There is little if any smog in this set, because summer was over.
This is probably north of Firebaugh. This is the Westside Highway.
