99 North in Kern County (former US99)

Most of these photos in Kern County are from 9/24/2008. It was smoggy in the valley on this day, and I might not have ever seen any part of the Central Valley smoggier!

This is after Exit 221 off I5. 99 takes the left three lanes. This is Mile 0. Once upon a time US99 did run farther down, to the El Centro area, but those days are long gone.

This is by 166. I5 and 99 are very close together through here. I don't know if 166 used to be a US highway or not.
