US50 East in Maryland
These are all from Brian in July 2008. I've never been on this part of
US50 so I can't comment on it myself.
The beginning of the bay bridge.
Looking out over the bay.
Shortly after the bay bridge. At this point, you are in the region of
Maryland known as the Eastern Shore, and on a land mass known as the
Delmarva Peninsula. US50 is no longer up to interstate standards at
this point.
The heavy traffic is a normal thing on this stretch during Fridays and
Saturdays during the summer months. US50 is the only direct route of
travel from the Washington, D.C. to the popular beach town of Ocean
City, and
once on the Eastern Shore it only has two lanes to hold the traffic.
