US101 used
to be six lanes wide between 880 and this point. Actually it was a
narrow
two lanes under Alum Rock Ave, and "ancient" pavement at that! The old
Alum
Rock Ave overpass was from 1946. This section was redone about 1990. To
get to 680
or 280
before the interchange was complete, you had to take Story Road to
King Road to access 280 North. These two are from 9/16/2010.

Here US101 has an interchange with I280 and I680. Note the great
height of this interchange. You're looking at it from
a normal ground level. This is from 11/2006.

The interchange ahead is with Story Road. The flyovers from and to
US101 go over it. Story Road and King Road were temporary connectors to
and
from US101 before the flyovers were built.
