This section now has a diamond lane and is eight lanes wide, since 1991. The 85 interchange was built in the spring and summer of 1994. The interchange opened in July 1994. 85 was opened from Almaden Expressway to Stevens Creek Boulevard in October 1994. This is from 9/29/2004.

This old sound wall was replaced in 1988. This was the start of the Bayshore Freeway until around 1985.
