This route is proposed 180. For a while in the 1960s, 180
ran as far east as US 101. It probably was decertified because
one
section of the route in San Benito County is only one lane wide. When
(or
if) completed, it might go along Little Panoche Road (a very bad dirt
road)
to form a more direct route. This is from July 1995. Caltrans has talked
about making a 180 expressway south of here to I5.
Just east of I5.
Shields Avenue runs through the hills until it passes the aqueduct.

You can make out the Sierras and their snow pack in the distance.

These mountains are between I5 and US101, including Pinnacles National
Monument, and several large tracts of BLM Land.

This is 180 by Chandler Airport, which is no longer Fresno's main
Airport.
This is barely inside Fresno.
The high rises are the Tower District. This is near the new 180 freeway.
