Interstate 80 West in Nebraska

Mile 86
This is after I80 has begun to climb into the Rocky Mountain foothills since I80 passed I76. US385 has an undercrossing out here and also this is near Chappell. This climb is steep. From just past I76 you are in hills and mountains until about Mile 114 in Penryn, California. The elevation is about 3,300 feet near I76. US138 runs across the South Platte river from I76. Also from Lincoln to Grand Island the section of US34 out there is ALT I80. Past Grand Island US30 is ALT I80. I was on US34 and US81 between Utica, Waco, and York. I have also been on US81 many times in Texas including the Waco in Texas. Also my maternal great great uncle lived out near Hastings and North Loup. US385 South in Texas

[I80 West]

Interstate 80 is approaching the state line here. Here you enter Pine Bluffs, which is a scenic area you can see from a long way away on I80 West in Nebraska. US30 merges back with I80 for the first time in several hundred miles. US30 is a separate route in Nebraska. This is high altitude, high enough to be above the timber line. The elevation is 5,049 feet. Also the Minuteman III ICBM is based out here.
