Interstate 80 East in California
These are mainly courtesy Trevor Carrier up to Interstate 5 in
Sacramento, and the first three are from April 30, 2007. This is
approaching the MacArthur Maze on I80 East. The collapse was
repaired in about six weeks.
Also, in 1989, I880 south of here collapsed in an earthquake and
was not redone until about 1997. This is in Alameda county. I drove the Bay Bridge on the day of the Oakland firestorm in October 1991. That was creepy and I felt a little funny driving over the sections that had collapsed on the Bay Bridge.
The ramps to I880 were rerouted in 1997. I580 was detoured for about
six weeks when this was taken in 4/2006.
This used to be the interchange for US40 (now I80), US50 (now I580
and I80), and 17 (now I880.)
This is from Diedrik Edholm of I80 East in the MacArthur Maze.
