This route used to be California 117 until the 1980s. Its presently California 905, and should be Interstate 905 some day.
Its a freeway from I5 until just past 805, then has a highway segment until you get near the Border Checkpoint just south of the Brown Field airport, where it becomes a freeway again, and a border crossing.
This area had a wild time in the early 1990s with illegal immigration.
