Highway 85 Under Construction

These are from February 1989. They show Pollard Road three years before 85 was being built out this way. This photo shows Pollard Road going east. The freeway corridor is right by the big power lines in the distance. I will leave these up permanently.

This is Pollard Road heading west. The corridor is about 1000 feet ahead. Also there was snow on the hills in the distance.

This railroad crossing was gone in early 1992. The road was rerouted in 1992 to run under the freeway.

This is a little past the last photo and it shows the snow in the mountains near Skyline. I hardly ever saw it like this out here.

These three are scanned from slides and they are from 1/20/1986. This is the end of 85 between I280 and Stevens Creek back then.

This is from March 1986. This railroad crossing was gone by 1992. This is by Wedgewood and Pollard. This intersection does not exist anymore at all. This is scanned off slides. Pollard Road does not meet Winchester anymore. The freeway currently runs just past where the train tracks were back then. The train was slow here in the 1980s.
