This is just south of Saratoga Ave.
At the outset 85 had no guardrail. It had very fast drivers and a high fatal accident rate. In 1995 a guardrail was erected. This section is a memorial highway for CHP Officer Scott M. Greenly.
This is the exit to reach Lawrence Expressway.

Highway 17 is the next interchange after this. There is no Quito Road interchange.
