Highway 58 East in California

Near 223, and from 223 to Tehachapi, you go through foothill country similar to what you see on 180 in the foothills above Fresno, but this area is far dryer than the Sierra foothills, so you have to be up about 3000' to see the same annual dry grass and Oak trees that you can see at 1500' in a moister climate.
