The hills are a bright yellow here. Down below 2500 feet in this area
they are
usually
a tan color.

This is taken looking towards the Santa Cruz Mountains. The valley is obscured by
smog.
The middle of the horizon is the gap near 9 and 35. Also you can see this
area from the vista points on Skyline.

The nearby foothills in the foreground are above south east San
José.
