US30 East in Pennsylvania

This is US30 East in Ohio and these are all from Kevin Weed. This runs to the Pittsburg area. I have been on US30 in Oregon in the 1980s and on US30 in Idaho. I have not done this part of US30 myself.
Descending to the bottom of the back side of Mount Washington where
US-30/I-376 heads toward the Fort Pitt tunnel. That is the
last of Ohio along route 30.

Fort Pitt Tunnel. You can notice in this picture as well as the previous
picture that the area here is still generally pretty rural, just running
through the Pennsylvania hills.

Inside the tunnel. It runs under Mount Washington, which is known for it's
fantastic views of downtown Pittsburgh on the other side.

As soon as you come out of the tunnel, you're in Pittsburgh, coming out on
the Fort Pitt Bridge. Some folks would tell you that the Fort Pitt Tunnel
is the best way to enter a city, because when you go in, if you didn't know
any better you wouldn't think you were anywhere near a city for as rural
and hilly as it is, and just that fast you come out on the other side and
boom, it's right there in front of you. Welcome to the City Of Steel.
