US101 South in Ventura County

This is Mile 51. This section was reconstructed in 1986 to 1988. It was widened.

This is Mile 49, and the start of Conejo Grade. This used to be about half as wide until 1986 - 1987. Conejo means "rabbit" in Spanish.

This is Mile 49. The summit is just ahead of this, and this grade is not very high but it is pretty steep for something this close to the ocean. They did have to widen this highway in the past.
