This is about Mile 76. I do not think this section had callboxes at all in the 1980s.

This is at Mile 74. The freeway is not steep through here. I did this section a lot from 1986 to 1989. It has not changed much since then. I last did it in 2008.

This is at Mile 73, and there were a lot of traffic jams here on this ride, on a Saturday. We'd never seen anything like this out here. The beaches and cliffs are close to the freeway here.

Mile 71, and this is high up. The freeway enters Ventura next.
