US101 South in San Luis Obispo County

This was taken near Paso Robles. The mountains by Cuesta Grade are dead ahead.

This is just south of 58, and this is from January 1996. The hills are in the Los Padres National Forest and they burned in 1985.

This pass was improved dramatically. There was heavy road work through here. This pass used to scare me worse than Highway 17. Note the new glare screen on the center divider.

Here is Cuesta Grade in 1989. This area was finally improved in 2001, and each side has an extra lane.
