Chaular is the next exit after the left turn to Esperanza Road.
This
section is not a freeway. This is from November 1995.
These next two are near Chualar.
It is amazing this tiny town even has an overpass. This town is
a bit
rough, to say the least. They've talked for years about
developing this
area. This town was bypassed by the freeway in 1957. Chualar is
a census designated place. The name may be indigenous though
chual means pigweed in Spanish.
This is the Chualar exit.
This is Chualar in June 1989.
This is south of Chualar in April 1995.
The mountains on the horizon to the right of the freeway are
near
Arroyo
Seco and some are in the National Forest.
