US101 North in Monterey County

Mile 240 and this is the Monterey County line.
This used to be a very bumpy and noisy stretch until the 1990s. It sounded and felt like you were driving on a flat tire. These two photos show how much the appearance of this area changes by season. This is from August 1995.

This part of US101 has fast S curves and reminds me of I10 and US290 near Sheffield, Texas.
