Interstate 80 East in Pennsylvania

These are from Kevin Weed in March 2016. I have distant relatives that have held family reunions out here since I was in high school. I just have not been able to go to them. Otherwise I would have had photos from here since 1987.  State Line. Welcome to Pennsylvania. Like I said earlier, I-80 won't see a metro area again until New Jersey as it serves no towns/cities of substantial size anywhere in the state, therefore making it a relatively rural Interstate. I-80 runs through the northern half of Pennsylvania and the western half of the drive is relatively flat with minimal long gradual slopes but as you get to about half way through the state, you really start to get into the ups and downs of Appalachia. There have apparently been a few attempts by the state of PA to toll I-80, but they have yet to be successful in doing so (I-76 already runs as their turnpike).

Mile 15. Mercer exit. This is about as much up and down as it gets in the western half of the state.

Mile 17. As the sign says I-79 runs from Erie up north into Pittsburgh about 50 miles south although I-79 continues on to Charleston, West Virginia where it meets and ends at I-77.
