This is the Carlin Tunnel and it is longer than you might think. There is a long section with big rock formations after the tunnel.

This is taken while approaching Elko, and the snow capped mountains in the
photo are the Ruby Mountains
that run southwest
from Wells.

This is the Ruby Mountains in all their glory. This was about sunset and in the middle of wintertime. They have a little snow left in the summer.
