Interstate 70 West

This is from Kevin Weed in August 2018 of a trip from Ohio to Colorado on I70. I have been on this freeway from Dayton, Ohio to Denver so I can comment on it. I have been on US50 in Nevada so I have been on what could have been I70.

Welcome to Kansas! I got the impression that Kansas City, Kansas is more
industrial than the Missouri side.

[I70 West]

Kansas is a long long state from end to end, thus it seems like it takes
forever to get to Colorado. That being said, it's up hill (gradually) most
of the way as you gain almost 3,000 feet in elevation from the time you
leave KC, to the Colorado border. Most of that elevation gain is in the
first half of the state, as the second half is pretty flat.
(From Eric: I80 West climbs extremely abruptly past I76. I70 is not like that out here and in eastern Colorado. It is gradually going up and it is not as flat as something like 99 in California.)

[I70 West]

I-70 runs as the Kansas Turnpike all the way to Topeka (where the turnpike
leaves 70 and heads south to Wichita).
