Interstate 15 North in Nevada and Arizona

This is I15 North near Riverside, at Mile 111.
Looking toward the Virgin River Canyon, almost pointing due west. The valley is the first eight miles or so of Arizona. Note the snow capped peaks in Northern Arizona. Southern Utah is on the left most horizon.

In the summer this area is hot, in the winter it can be icy and very cold.

These two photos are courtesy Kevin Pyles. This is what the Virgin River Canyon looks like. This is the second most expensive freeway project in the US. It was number one until the "Big Dig" in Boston. The freeway speed limit drops to 55 MPH and there are many places to park along the freeway. It is amazing they could construct the freeway through here. Old US91 is several miles to the west.
