I10 East in Arizona
I was out here pretty often when I was in grade
school. My mom's family is from Arizona also. These are from
Kevin Weed from March 2018.
This portion of I-10 covers the vast arid Sonoran Desert. While
some folks may have a perception of a desert being a forever
flat, dry, hot wasteland of nothingness, that's not necessarily
true. While it is mostly flat and during the summer months does
reach temps over 100, there are distant dry arid mountains
amongst the desert and it does
come down to more tolerable temperatures during the winter
months. The desert does get rain, the majority of which comes
during the summer monsoon season, however it does rain
occasionally during the rest of
the year as it began to do by the time we got into Tucson for
this trip (but not often.)
The interesting looking peak on the right in the distance is
Picacho
Peak.
This is by AZ87. This is near Eloy.
This is I10 East in Tucson.
This is by Mile 238.
