Highway 58 East in California (former US466)

After Mojave 58 is a 65 mph four lane divided highway. The rest of 58 from I15 to I5 will be turned into an four lane, divided expressway by late 2020. It started late in 2017. There will be a railroad overcrossing. The Hinkley bypass east of US395 was done from about 2013 to 2015. It is a four lane expressway. California 14 is formerly US6.

This is approaching California City Blvd, and this section was being resurfaced and improved.
About here the speed limit goes to 70 and you see a sign post that says:

58 was being built as a freeway just north of Mojave here. It was done in 2004.

This is taken 35 miles west of I15, three miles east of Kramer, and after Kramer (US395) it is a two lane wide highway.
Note the purple asphalt. You'll see more of this on I15 North of Barstow. There is a new expressway being built through here that is four lanes. There will be a railroad overpass also. It was started in late 2017 and it will be done in late 2020.
