269 South in Fresno County, California

This isn't exactly a scenic route by any means, as long as you are north of I5. It connects Five Points (where 145 and 269 meet) with 33 in Avenal and I5. This first four of this set are from August 26, 1995. Just past 198 you run through some sand dunes. Before the aqueduct was built, this area was much hotter and dryer than it is now.

There's not a lot in this town, Huron, and this is a tough town.

The hills in the Coalinga area are off in the distance.

Looking towards the interchange with I5, and the grade 269 has just past I5.
 You can see a long way from 269 East going over that grade.
