Proposed 130 East in California

Proposed 130 through Stanislaus County normally gets seven inches of rain a year.
A few months earlier when I did this trip seven inches of rain fell in one day and washed out much of the road.
Note the peculiar landscape, much like what you see on 88 near the Nevada state line.

[130 East]

The curves are mainly 22 MPH through here.

[130 East]

I saw almost no one between the county line and the start of the park.

[130 East]

This is lower elevation than the last photo.

[130 East]

This must be an old mine.

[130 East]

The road is dropping here and there are a lot of curves out here at 22 MPH. This part might be visible from Mt. Hamilton.

[130 East]

This is Frank Raines Regional Park and it gets extremely hot here in the summer. It is about 16.5 miles from the park to I5.

[130 East]

This area reminds me of Big Bend National Park in Texas. There is a stone fence next to the highway.

Keep Heading East on 130
