Proposed 130 East in California

Looking right at Mt. Stakes. The mountains to the right are the back part of Henry Coe State Park. Mt. Stakes has expensive real estate. I can remember a controlled burn got out of control here in October 1993. The ridge line shown here is the county line and the elevation shown is up to 3800 feet.

[130 East]

Looking into Stanislaus and Merced Counties, pointed towards 152 about four miles east of the summit.
Most of the ridge line on the horizon is Henry Coe State Park. The hills are partly in the park, and the park actually comes within a few miles of this part of the road. There is no public entrance through here, though a road to the park (closed to the public) does reach 130 north of here.

[130 East]

Welcome to the San Antonio Valley. Here the road heads north and is 55 mph plus. Some people actually ride their bikes out here. This is the closest you will get to seeing what Silicon Valley looked like before it was inhabited.

[130 East]

This is the lake you can see at the top of Mount Hamilton.
Looking at Red Mountain from the south.

[130 East]

I do not think I saw anyone on this scenic section.

[130 East]

I would not be surprised to see people driving 100 MPH out here.
