I only went as far east as Don Pedro Reservoir. so if you want to see Mono Lake, you're out of luck. Not that I didn't want to go as far east as Mono Lake or US 6, I just didn't have enough time.
120 seems almost like an Interstate as you enter the Sierra
foothills. Parts of it are divided. Even some of the two
lane road sections are
65 mph. But then you pass Don Pedro Reservoir and it gets slow
and
tedious. This highway roughly points along the same corridor as
Interstate
70, but I don't think this highway could or would ever be turned into
an
interstate. This set is from 10/17/1998, and this is in
Stanislaus County.
This is a four lane divided highway section (and it is 65 MPH too.)
120 has a slow section right after Don Pedro Reservoir, which is
where I turned around on this trip.
